Maruti Suzuki Brezza : Maruti Suzuki has launched a completely overhauled version of the Brezza compact SUV, showcasing a remarkable enhancement in design elegance and premium features while preserving the practicality that has made it a top seller.
This updated Brezza presents a bolder exterior, luxurious interior amenities, and advanced technology typically reserved for higher-end vehicles – all indicating Maruti’s goal to reposition this popular model as a more aspirational choice for buyers.
The most noticeable update is the extensively redesigned exterior of the Brezza.
At the front, a larger and more striking grille greets you, adorned with meticulous chrome accents that seamlessly flow into the newly designed LED projector headlights.
These headlights are complemented by crystal-like LED daytime running lights, which create a unique light signature, clearly setting this model apart from previous versions.
“Our aim was to develop a vehicle with a genuine road presence,” says Takuya Hashimoto, Chief Designer at Maruti Suzuki.
“The Brezza’s customer base has evolved, along with their expectations. Today’s buyers want their vehicle to be a statement piece, not just a means of transport.”
From the side, the Brezza showcases well-defined wheel arches that accommodate newly crafted 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. The strong character lines create an interplay of light and shadow that provides visual interest.
A floating roof design with contrasting color options adds to the premium feel, offering personalization that was not previously available.
At the rear, connected LED taillights stretch across the tailgate, giving a broader visual impression while incorporating signature light elements that ensure the Brezza is easily identified even at night.
The redesigned bumper, featuring a silver skid plate, brings a hint of ruggedness without sacrificing the overall sophisticated design.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Cabin Experience That Exceeds Expectations
The transformation of the interior is even more striking, boasting materials and features that redefine expectations for Maruti Suzuki’s vehicle class.
The dashboard now showcases a layered design with soft-touch surfaces, stylish contrast stitching, and elegant piano black and brushed aluminum accents.
Central to the dashboard is a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
This system powers the new Arkamys-tuned audio setup, equipped with six strategically placed speakers ensuring optimal sound quality.
“The overall ambiance in the cabin is drastically improved compared to the outgoing model,” shares automotive journalist Vikram Mehta.
“The quality of materials, fit and finish, and attention to detail signify a remarkable upgrade, not just for the Brezza but within its entire segment.”
Premium touches include customizable ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery with contrast stitching, ventilated front seats, and a wireless charging pad featuring a cooling function – options that were previously unimaginable in this vehicle class.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Feature Set That Challenges Premium Competitors
The Brezza now offers a robust feature list that would impress buyers looking at more premium segments:
-
Electric sunroof with tilt and slide functionality
-
360-degree camera system offering various viewing angles
-
Head-up display providing key information within the driver’s line of sight
-
Automatic climate control featuring rear AC vents
-
Push-button start with smart keyless entry
-
Cruise control equipped with speed limiter function
-
Cooled glovebox along with ample storage compartments
The safety features have seen significant enhancements with six airbags, an electronic stability program, hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchors now standard across most variants.
Higher trims introduce features like blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert – advanced driver assistance systems rarely found in this segment.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Refined Powertrain Options
Under the hood, the Brezza continues with its reliable 1.5-liter K-series engine, now featuring updates including dual variable valve timing and an integrated starter generator that enhances efficiency.
This mild-hybrid system supports a claimed fuel efficiency of 19.8 km/l for manual versions and 19.4 km/l for automatic units – impressive figures given the added features.
The engine delivers 103 horsepower and 138 Nm of torque, transmitted through either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
The automatic option is a notable improvement over the previous 4-speed unit, enabling smoother highway cruising and enhanced responsiveness for overtaking.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza Market Positioning
With pricing ranging from ₹7.99 lakh to ₹13.96 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Brezza positions itself as a superior choice in the compact SUV market.
Though this represents a price hike compared to its predecessor, Maruti Suzuki believes that the significantly upgraded design and feature list justify this change.
“The compact SUV segment has reached a new level of maturity,” points out industry analyst Priya Sharma.
“Early adopters who bought the original Brezza are now looking to elevate their experience, expecting greater sophistication without the necessity of upgrading to a larger vehicle. Maruti has tailored this update to meet that changing demand.”
Early market responses support this strategy; bookings have surpassed 45,000 units in just the first two weeks since the launch.
Production capacity at Maruti’s manufacturing plant has been ramped up to fulfill this demand, with current waiting periods ranging from 4 to 6 weeks depending on the variant and color chosen.
